Materials

This is a compilation of materials I created in Substance Designer for a few different environment projects. Most of them were made to be fairly 'clean' tiling materials with an emphasis on avoiding obvious repetition, allowing overlaying decal work to carry the environment's story.
.
Marmoset Toolbag 3 was used for renders, and Photoshop for compositing.

Weatherworn Brick
.
A typical utilitarian brick material you might see on an aged building in real life.

New Exterior Stucco (Cement Plaster)
.
Created for my Winter Street Scene environment, this stucco was used as a clean tiling material that would receive decals for dirt/grime/damage.

Conglomerate Stone Masonry
.
I based this material on the unique conglomerate stone masonry I observed while traveling in Salzburg, Austria and used it as a clean tiling base under stucco in my Winter Street Scene.

Arched (Fan) Cobblestones
.
Another simple tiling material created for the Winter Street Scene as part of a vertex painted material (3-rough snow, 2-smooth snow, 1-ice, 0-cobblestones) which interacted with snow meshes and decals.

Rocky Soil
.
This material scattered multiple layers of rocks over sand and incorporated sticks from scanned data. It was used as a forest/beach ground in my Bowie Knife project.

This was used as a cave ground in my Reinforced Volatile Artillery Storage project.

Sci-Fi Door Panels
.
An experiment with clean hard-surface material creation, relying completely on tessellation and height displacement. The door design is based upon the cabin doors from the 2016 film Passengers.
